Windows Live Messenger Errors
To anyone using Windows Live Messenger and getting the error:

We were unable to sign you into Windows Live Messenger at this time. Please try again later.
To let us try and troubleshoot the problem, click the Troubleshoot button.
Error code: 80048820
Extended error code: 80048412
The error range could be: 80048820, 80048412, 80048439
Here’s what you can do:
Click on the Help button and a new window with this text will pop up:
Can’t sign in because your date and time settings aren’t accurate
You may not be able to sign if your date and time settings aren’t accurate.
To troubleshoot the problem on Microsoft Windows XP:
1. Go to Start, and click Run.
2. Type timedate.cpl, and then click OK. Alternatively, you can just doubleclick on the system clock on your taskbar.
3. Update the Date and Time Properties to the correct date and time settings, and then click OK. If they’re already correct, try to use a random date and time setting then reset it to the correct one.
To troubleshoot the problem on Windows Vista:
1. Go to Start, and type timedate.cpl in the Start Search box.
2. Update the Date and Time Properties to the correct date and time settings, and then click OK. If they’re already correct, try to use a random date and time setting then reset it to the correct one.
