How to Retrieve Passwords from “Remembered” sites

July 25th, 2008 | 1 Comment | Posted in Tips and Tricks

Firefox, Opera, Internet Explorer and all the popular and functional browsers out there have the useful, “Remember Me” feature that saves us the trouble of retyping our login details via HTML form.  The feature is so useful we tend to rely on it so much that we forget what our real passwords are.  Although you can recover this by digging through the security options of your browser, there’s an easier way to do it.

The Trick

Just click the textfield below, hit Ctrl + C (or copy) then past it on the address bar after loading a site that you want to recover your password from.

The Bookmark

Easy huh?  If you want to keep this script handy, just drag Retrieve Passwd to your Firefox, Opera  (or any browser that supports bookmarklets) bookmark toolbar, and rename as want.
