Amazing FanMSI Taiwan is pushing an amazing concept. Heat powered fans.

While it’s still in the testing stage, the prototype you see in the picture is a working concept design (means it’s an actual working prototype). If you’ve jumped on the power saving bandwagon then the Stirling Engine Theory is something you should look forward to. The fan and the the idea behind it is to use Waste Chip Heat to power a cooling fan without the need of conventional electricity. Sounds interesting right?

The heat is transferred from the motherboard northbridge chipset spins the cooling fan and cool down the heatsink. Of course you can debate that for this to work you actually need heat to make it remove it but that’s the geekier stuff. Eco-friendly gadgets are a go for me.
